Acclaimed British Singer/Songwriter Named Special Guest on Hugely Anticipated “The RED Tour”; North American Trek Begins March 13th in Omaha

NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwire – October 31, 2012) – Elektra recording artist Ed Sheeran has announced plans to support Taylor Swift as a special guest on her hugely anticipated “The RED Tour.” The North American dates get underway March 13th in Omaha, Nebraska, and then continue through mid-September (see below itinerary). Sheeran co-wrote and recorded the song “Everything Has Changed” with Swift for her new album, “RED” — the song has already reached #1 on the iTunes “Top Singles” chart.

“Taylor is one of the most talented and driven artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting,” says Sheeran. “It’s been amazing to collaborate with her and going on tour is going to be a great experience. I can’t wait.”

Sheeran’s own debut single, “The A Team,” is currently climbing the radio charts, up to #23 at CHR/Pop and nearing the top 10 at Hot AC. The song has already gone to #2 at Triple A radio, while its companion music video has garnered more than 46 million views on YouTube ( http://bit.ly/agKW6r ). “The A Team” is featured on Sheeran’s acclaimed, debut full length “+”, which entered the Soundscan/Billboard 200 at #5 upon its U.S. release this past summer. This fall saw Sheeran sell out every date on his first-ever headlining tour of North America.

21-year-old singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has become one of the biggest musical success stories in the UK over the past year. His debut single, “The A Team,” was Britain’s highest charting, biggest selling debut single of 2011, and was soon followed by Sheeran’s debut album “+”, which entered the UK Album chart at #1 upon its September 2011 release and has since been certified 5x-platinum. A two-time winner at the 2012 BRIT Awards (in the categories for “British Male Solo Artist” and “British Breakthrough Act”), Sheeran capped his summer with a memorable performance of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” — alongside Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, Genesis’ Mike Rutherford, and Richard Jones of The Feeling — at the London 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Magnificent Limited Edition Box Sets of Band’s 29 Singles on Legendary Casablanca Label

Available December 4

LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – October 31, 2012) - Rock legends KISS were the first signing to the late Neil Bogart‘s newly formed Casablanca Records label after he saw and recognized their talent and showmanship during their spectacular performance at a showcase concert at New York City’s Le Tang’s Ballet Studio in 1973, offering them a contract on the spot. Now, KISS celebrates their 40th anniversary in 2013 having broken box-office records set by The Beatles and Elvis, more than 28 U.S. gold albums — the most gold records for any American rock band — 40 million sales in the U.S. and a total exceeding 100 million worldwide.

In their early years, KISS released a total of 29 singles on seven-inch 45 RPM records for the Casablanca label. These were available for sale to the public, used for commercial radio airplay and to promote album sales. Many of these singles had entirely different mixes, edits and material that didn’t appear on their vinyl albums. Now for the first time, these musical snapshots of KISS’ formative years, which have never been available in a commemorative singles edition, will be released in two box-set configurations entitled The Casablanca Singles 1974-1982, on Dec. 4 from Mercury/Casablanca/UMe:

29 Seven-inch vinyl (Limited Edition available direct to consumer via www.universalmusicenterprises.com/select)
29 CDs (available through all retail outlets)

In typical KISS fashion, these are no ordinary boxes. The sets are housed in a beautiful die-cut shadow box with a limited edition, etched silver metal plate and ribbon-pull magnetic closure, custom KISS 45s box with 26 collectible picture sleeves from original single releases around the world, including Japan, Germany, Holland, Spain and Britain. The vinyl collection also features singles from all four solo albums in purple, blue, red and green vinyl with a picture sleeve representing each individual member as originally released in the U.K. Both sets include a booklet which tracks the genesis and chart history of each single represented in the package and four individual KISS masks.

The Casablanca Singles 1974-1982 covers KISS’ remarkable eight-year stay on Bogart’s label, from their very first single “Nothin’ to Lose” b/w “Love Theme from KISS,” from their self-titled debut, to their very first charted 45, “Kissin’ Time.” The band’s subsequent string of hits included Dressed to Kill’s live version of “Rock and Roll All Nite” (No. 12 on Billboard’s Hot 100), Destroyer’s “Shout It Out Loud” (No. 31) and the Top 10 ballad “Beth,” Rock and Roll Over’s “Hard Luck Woman” (No. 15) and “Calling Dr. Love” (No. 16), Love Gun’s “Christeen Sixteen” (No. 25), Ace Frehley’s solo hit, “New York Groove” (No. 13) and Dynasty’s “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” (No. 11).

“Even I haven’t heard some of this stuff, but this is all part of our master plan to celebrate KISS at this milestone in our careers,” says Gene Simmons. “This box set represents us at the very beginning of our career, and documents the band’s early success and subsequent growth.”

Adds Paul Stanley: “This collection is meant for the true KISS aficionado. The packaging really captures the development of both our music and image at a very crucial period in the band’s history.”

The special set comes out after the release of Monster, their 20th studio album. Showing the band at the top of its game, Monster embodies all that is KISS and the music that first inspired them to pick up their guitars and flame-throwers and don makeup to entertain millions. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, with longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, return stronger than ever with their new album to continue the legacy of the spectacular larger-than-life extravaganza known as KISS.

New Entertainment Industry Real Behind the Scenes Stories

Los Angeles, CA (BlackNews.com) — Legacy Publishing Group announces the release of their latest literary offering, Room 111, by authors Kiesah Hakeem and Michael McGrew. The book is an enthralling inside look at the challenges that an artist faces and sacrifices that they make to be successful in the music industry.

Raquan is the central focus of the story, an aspiring singer and songwriter who struggles to attain his family’s past until his brother’s untimely death. His mother succumbs to alcoholism and is forced to send him away to live with his estranged father, Renwick Taylor, a high powered music executive. While living in Renwick’s home, an opportunity surfaces when he meets Antoine Swinger and goes against his mother’s wishes to pursue a career in music. Raquan enters the world of entertainment with high hopes and dreams but gradually realizes there are extreme prices to pay to maintain his fame. He quickly learns “what happens in the industry stays in the industry.”

Co-author Michael McGrew, comments, “Room 111 should have been written years ago! Being a writer in Los Angeles I knew a story so powerful as this would manifest and thanks to my co-author, we were able to bring the darkness of the music industry to light.” Michael is the author of “My Kinda Girl”, which sold over 7000 copies independently, “Taking Losses”, contributing author of “Between the Sheets” anthology and currently working on his fourth novel “False Eyelashes”. Keep your eyes and ears open for more projects from Legacy Publishing Group.

Co-author Kiesah Hakeem, comments, “Over several months, I kept seeing blogs from an author named Michael McGrew. I was fascinated by the fact that he independently released two novels of his own, but what intrigued me even further was that he was starting an independent publishing company. I was in the process of writing a novel about the entertainment industry so I reached out to Michael McGrew and was surprised that he responded right away! We set up a phone conference and it just so happened that he was in the process of creating a book with similar ideas and content. At that point, we decided to collaborate on Room 111 and the experience has been phenomenal!”

Kiesah is the former lead singer from the family group Royalty, signed to Warner Brothers Records working with famed producers, Atlantic Star, Teddy Riley, Full Force, Jodeci and Gerald Levert. She lent her songwriting talents to several recording artists, including but not limited to, Tamia, Jessica Jerrell, Kiki Palmer, Brandy, Fabolus, Amerie, Kiesah Cole, Naz, Nick Cannon, Jay Z and the legendary Gladys Knight’s Grammy Award winning contemporary album “Greatest Love of All“. Kiesah also has film credits to her name but becoming an author is her latest endeavor.
