Interview: Kenyan Rapper Jozza Kinshu | The Hype Magazine Blog.

Jozza KinshuKeith Joshua Mwazo AKA Jozza Kinshu, Born in 1992 in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. Jozza Kinshu has been considered an Asian name more often than not but it hails from an interesting background. “Jozza” was a name taken from his cousin Jordan Sharma; he then attained the last name alias “Kinshu” from a freestyle battle where he convinced people it meant a ruthless warrior in his mother tongue back in his rural home of Kenya.

Jozza Kinshu most commonly referred to as “Jozza K” started pursuing music in the early months of 2011. Later that year he came out with the mixtape “I am Kinshu Volume one” which did relatively well for a first mixtape with no marketing plan. He later got recognized for his two singles (which were a hit with teenagers of his age group ) “Across the room” and “Illusions of Love”. He and one of his close friends “Zory” remixed Kanye West’s “Touch the sky” which got played on the Kenyan radio station “Kiss 100” displaying upcoming talent. From there on in Jozza K has been throwing out freestyles and singles and has even gotten several e-mails from diverse radio presenters that sought to interview him, due to undetailed factors at the time he was forced to bitterly let them slip by. After that Jozza went quiet to only resurface in July on a new mixtape anthem track titled “What’s up” featuring Sanjei Mayne a family friend and someone he terms as a brother to him. This track and video got featured on an online Kenyan Music Magazine titled “Ghafla Kenya”.
