R&B sensation Ray Lavender is steadily rising through the ranks as one of the next iconic crooners in the business. His hit singles, “Girl Gotta Girlfriend” Ft. Fabolous and Red Cafe, “Put It Down” Ft. T-Pain and “Stay” produced by Tank show his versatility and heart felt dedication to the genre.
Making his bones as a song writer featured on Gerald Levert‘s “A Stroke of Genius” album where he wrote, “Knock Knock Knock,” Lavender has gained the respect of the industry’s top producers including Jazze Pha, Dallas Austin and Tricky Stewart.
Signed to Akon‘s Konvict Music, he records under the creative mastery of the multi-platinum selling producer/artist. There was an instant chemistry between the two when Ray reached out to Akon, seeking production for his album and he was immediately signed as the first act to Akon’s Kon Live Records distribution label.
Hailing from a music loving family, Ray was destined to be a force in the industry, but the untimely loss of his father motivated him to make a difference for himself and his family. The other inspiration for his music of course is the ladies and the singer/songwriter/actor/model has made him a woman’s crush for quite some time.
Ray says, “Women are the most precious creatures on earth and I just found my way to express my appreciation through my music.”
