Tickets are on sale for United Rocks!: A Classic Rock Christmas at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at Topeka Performing Arts Center. A Classic Rock Christmas features December People is a band of musicians whose music fuses classic hits with classic Christmas carols. The band’s members play (or have played) with such well-known acts as BOSTON, Sammy Hagar, the Greg Kihn Band, the Tubes, Ambrosia, ELP and Y&T. The concert is being staged to generate hunger awareness, collect food for Project Topeka and support United Way of Greater Topeka. Tickets are available at TPAC and through Ticketmaster. Prices are $60 for VIP tickets with a chance to meet the band and $28 for general admission.

December People takes classic Christmas songs and plays them in the styles of such artists as The Who, The Police, ZZ Top, BOSTON, Led Zepplin and more. Band members have sold more than 40 million albums and CDs with their regular bands. December People includes Gary Pihl of BOSTON, Robert Berry who has played with the Greg Kihn Band and Ambrosia, Dave Medd of The Tubes, David Lauser of the Sammy Hagar Band and Jack Foster, an international artist popular in Europe.

    It’s really too bad it’s a 1600 mile bus ride from here (I doubt if anybody flies into Topeka from SF)… It does sound like a good gig, especially for us old rockers…
