Former Olympian and Heavyweight Champion boxer Nate Jones, is as ingrained in boxing history as some of his more famous compatriots from the fight game. Jones currently holds the distinction of being the only native born Chicago boxer to ever medal in the history of the Olympic Games. During the 1996 Atlanta games, Jones earned Bronze after defeating Fola Okesola of Great Britain and Jiang Tao of China, only to have his progress stopped via a debatable split decision in favor of Canada’s David Defiagbon. Prior to the Olympics, Jones was the National Golden Gloves Heavyweight Champion in 1994 and 1995. Currently Jones is an assistant trainer for Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
