Da Foundation was formed in summer of 2009 and is made up of: “Mu Smoova” Mustaiin Lawrence born June 20. Nickname “Mu” thinker, militant, an quiet spoken person who, at the same time possesses a vibe which demands attention (Lion in the Room). “Mile Casso” Malcolm Lawrence born October 10, is vigorously active, approachable and a risk taker, with the mind state of a gambler, (You win some, you lose some but I ain’t trying to lose).  The duo’s different styles complement each other with massively powerful energy as they continue towards success. “Alleyway 2 Broadway!” a good start for a better finish. Da Foundation went from open mic’s to winning showcases to headlining their own shows in a matter of months working with various booking agencies. Realizing their foundation must be strong they focused on their surrounding areas. Performing in Greensboro, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Charlotte and Durham just to name a few. The unique style they bring to the table fed their audience(s) leaving no bitter taste as their targeted audience identifies 100% with their music. Smoova says, “We are walking proof of this s*it.” But that wasn’t enough. It was time to release a project, which they did, “Alleyway to Broadway.” Moneyball was produced by Dreez09 productions and Don Mega (MegaMuzik/D-Block/ BrickSquad 1017) is currently available at www.coast2coastmixtapes.com.
