Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner Issues Official Proclamation Recognizing  July 18, as Go DJ Awards Day

In anticipation of Houston’s largest music and entertainment awards show, Mayor Sylvester Turner has proclaimed that the city will observe July 18 as Go DJ Awards Day. The awards show, now in its third year, showcases the best in Houston’s music and pays tribute to local business and civic leaders.    CLICK HERE FOR 2015 AWARD SHOW RECAP    The proclamation issued by Mayor Turner commends the awards show for bridging the gap between Houston’s entertainment and business community, and highlights the event’s massive reach, influence and past all-star lineups which have included BET’s “106 & Park’s” Miss Mykie, VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” star Johnnie Blaze, platinum-selling artist Kirko Bangz, Chedda Da Connect, Robert Primes PT and more.  The Go DJ Awards, which sold out in record time last year, will take place at NRG and start at 6:00 p.m. Tickets available via  Ticketmaster.com   “We are excited to be recognized by the City of Houston for the success of the event by officially proclaiming July 18 as Go DJ Awards Day,” said DJ Hi-C, founder of Go DJ Global. “Every year thousands of music lovers come out to enjoy the show, and each year it gets bigger and better. We look forward to spotlighting emerging local and regional talent, and bringing some of the biggest names in urban entertainment to our city.”
